WIN Karnataka State Chapter
WIN India has been spreading its wings and September 2022 witnessed another milestone in the WIN India journey – Inauguration of the WIN Karnataka State Chapter.
Formed under the aegis of WIN India, the Karnataka state chapter aims to embolden the core values of women in nephrology group at regional level. The idea of forming a Karnataka state chapter rapidly evolved into action and a preliminary meeting was conducted on 1st September 2022. The robust young women nephrologists team turned this dream into a reality. The Chapter was formally inaugurated by a virtual meeting held on 10th September 2022 with the whole hearted support of WIN India central team.

In addition, WIN Karnataka chapter is proud to have 45 women nephrologists as its members. The enthusiastic response to the first meet has been infectious and is a harbinger of all good things to come.
The team hopes to mentor young nephrologists and fuel their interest in research. A forum of this kind opens new opportunities for networking and promotes collaboration in research. It also provides a better platform to showcase the work done and address common challenges. WIN Karnataka chapter is also proud to host the next national conference of WIN and is eager to put together a memorable event
On the patient care front, we hope to be part of patient education and create awareness amongst general public. Women centric programs targeting specific problems faced by women with CKD are in pipeline.
As it is said, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and here we are taking toddler steps. We hope to learn, grow and help each other in this journey as a team and strengthen the WIN India activities.
